Injection Technique Quick Reference

Proper injection technique reduces pain, prevents bruising, and ensures you get the full dose. This quick reference card walks you through the complete process in numbered steps: wash hands thoroughly (20+ seconds), clean injection site with alcohol swab (let dry completely), pinch a fold of skin at the injection site, insert needle at a 45-degree angle (for thin skin) or 90-degree angle (for more subcutaneous tissue), inject medication slowly over 5-10 seconds, hold needle in place for 10 seconds after injection, release skin fold, withdraw needle and apply gentle pressure.
