Enclomiphene

Enclomiphene is the trans-isomer of clomiphene, a selective estrogen receptor modulator. In the hypothalamus it blocks estrogen's negative feedback, which prompts the pituitary to release more luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). Those signals drive the testes to produce more testosterone and to maintain sperm production, which is the key contrast with exogenous testosterone: injected or topical testosterone raises levels but suppresses the body's own axis and can reduce fertility. Enclomiphene works upstream, which is why it is studied in men who want higher testosterone while preserving their own production and fertility markers. It is taken as a once-daily capsule.
