What the NAD+ dose evidence actually is

No FDA label. Subcutaneous 20 to 100 mg per injection is clinic practice. Pharmacy vials are often 100 mg per mL.

There is no FDA label for NAD+ and no subcutaneous dose-finding trial. Compounding pharmacies commonly dispense 100 mg per mL vials, and clinics use 20 to 100 mg per subcutaneous injection, sometimes weekly, sometimes more often. Intravenous protocols use much larger amounts. All of that is practice, not evidence from a trial.

NAD+ units at each water volume

The table uses a 500 mg vial. Each cell is the draw on a U-100 insulin syringe for that dose at that water volume. Cells above 100 units do not fit a 1 mL syringe; cells below 10 units sit in the part of a 1 mL barrel where measurement error rises, and a 0.5 mL or 0.3 mL syringe reads them better.

Mixing NAD+

A 500 mg vial with 5 mL gives 100 mg per mL, so 50 mg is 50 units and 100 mg is 100 units, the whole barrel. If your dose is 100 mg, mixing with 2.5 mL gives 200 mg per mL and a 50-unit draw. Check that your vial holds the volume you choose; 5 mL needs a 10 mL vial.

NAD+ injections are known to sting, and some people split a dose across two sites. That is a technique question for your prescriber, not a change to the math.

Storing NAD+ after mixing

Refrigerate after mixing. A 500 mg vial at 50 mg is ten doses, which at once or twice a week runs well past 28 days; the calculator flags the overrun so you can plan a smaller mix.

Five millilitres gives 100 mg per mL, matching common pharmacy vials, so 50 mg is 50 units. Use less water if your dose is 100 mg and you want it to fit a syringe with room to spare.

One hundred units at 100 mg per mL, which fills a 1 mL syringe. Fifty units at 200 mg per mL.

Is NAD+ a peptide?

No, it is a coenzyme. It is included here because it is reconstituted and injected the same way and the same arithmetic applies.

Why does my NAD+ vial run past 28 days?

Because a 500 mg vial holds many doses at 20 to 100 mg each. Once punctured, a multiple-dose vial should not be used beyond 28 days under USP <797>. Mix a smaller vial or plan to discard the rest.
