A tirzepatide units chart converts a dose in milligrams into a liquid volume using the vial's concentration in mg/mL. On a U-100 syringe, 100 units represent 1 mL. The same milligram amount produces different unit counts at different concentrations.
Calculate milliliters first, then U-100 units
Volume in mL = dose in mg / concentration in mg/mL.
U-100 units = volume in mL x 100.
For example, 5 mg at 10 mg/mL is 0.5 mL, or 50 U-100 units. At 20 mg/mL, the same 5 mg is 0.25 mL, or 25 U-100 units.
Example conversion chart by concentration
| Amount in mg | 5 mg/mL | 10 mg/mL | 20 mg/mL |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.5 mg | 0.5 mL (50 units) | 0.25 mL (25 units) | 0.125 mL (12.5 units) |
| 5 mg | 1 mL (100 units) | 0.5 mL (50 units) | 0.25 mL (25 units) |
| 7.5 mg | 1.5 mL (150 units) | 0.75 mL (75 units) | 0.375 mL (37.5 units) |
| 10 mg | 2 mL (200 units) | 1 mL (100 units) | 0.5 mL (50 units) |
| 12.5 mg | 2.5 mL (250 units) | 1.25 mL (125 units) | 0.625 mL (62.5 units) |
| 15 mg | 3 mL (300 units) | 1.5 mL (150 units) | 0.75 mL (75 units) |
Read the concentration, not just the vial total
A vial containing 30 mg in 3 mL has a concentration of 10 mg/mL. A vial containing 30 mg in 1.5 mL has a concentration of 20 mg/mL. The total amount is 30 mg in both examples, but the volume for each milligram amount differs by a factor of two.

Check the result by multiplying back
Multiply the calculated mL by the concentration. For the 5 mg example, 0.5 mL x 10 mg/mL returns 5 mg. Converting 50 U-100 units back to mL gives 50 / 100 = 0.5 mL. Both calculations should describe the same amount.
Source for the volume conversion
The FDA's July 26, 2024 semaglutide dosing-error report gives 5 U-100 units as 0.05 mL. That source supports the syringe-volume relationship. The chart above follows the two formulas stated here.
Can this page replace medical advice about tirzepatide?
No. Tirzepatide Units Chart is informational. A licensed clinician who knows your history should review contraindications, labs, medication fit, and dose decisions.
