Progress Photo Guide & Template

Consistent progress photos are one of the most motivating and useful tools during GLP-1 treatment. This guide covers how to take photos that are truly comparable, plus a printable template for tracking your transformation.

Setup Instructions

  1. Choose your location. Pick a spot with a plain, uncluttered background (a blank wall works best). You will use this same spot every time.
  2. Set up lighting. Face a large window for natural light. Avoid overhead lighting that creates shadows. The light should be in front of you, not behind you. If no natural light is available, use two lamps placed at 45-degree angles.
  3. Mark your position. Place a small piece of tape on the floor where you will stand. This ensures consistent distance from the camera every time.
  4. Set camera distance. Place your phone or camera 5-6 feet away at chest height. Use a timer or ask someone to take the photo. The camera should capture from just above your head to just below your knees.
  5. Wear the same outfit. Choose form-fitting clothing or swimwear. Wear the same outfit in every photo session. Dark, solid colors show body shape changes most clearly.
  6. Time it consistently. Take photos at the same time of day, ideally in the morning before eating, after using the bathroom. This minimizes bloating and water weight variation.
