FDA declared the tirzepatide shortage resolved on December 19, 2024 and the semaglutide shortage on February 21, 2025, and reports that as of May 31, 2026 it had received 990 adverse event reports involving compounded semaglutide and more than 730 involving compounded tirzepatide, some of them dosing errors. The brand benchmark for self-pay patients is LillyDirect: Zepbound vials or the KwikPen at $299 (2.5 mg), $399 (5 mg) and $449 (7.5 mg and above) when refilled within 45 days of the prior fill, otherwise $499 for 7.5 mg and $699 for 10 to 15 mg.
